If a mother doesn't produce enough milk, her baby won't feel full. Is there any way to increase milk production? Today, I recommend two soups you can make at home that will produce more milk than your baby can finish.
The first one is Luffa and Egg Soup:

Ingredients (serves 1-2):
1 loofah (approximately 300g, choose tender loofah for a better texture);
2 eggs;
3 slices of ginger (to dispel cold and prevent flatulence);
10 goji berries (optional, to replenish qi and blood);
A pinch of salt and sesame oil.

Instructions:
1、Prepare the ingredients
Peel the loofah and cut it into 1cm pieces (soak in light salt water to prevent oxidation and darkening);
Beef up the egg and add a little cooking wine (to remove the fishy smell).
2. Cook the Soup
Heat the wok with cold oil. Once the oil is hot, add sliced ginger to bring out the aroma. Then add the loofah and reduce the heat to medium. Stir-fry until softened.
Add approximately 500ml of boiling water (‼️Key: Boiled water makes the soup whiter).
Once the water boils, pour the egg mixture in a circular motion. Let it sit for 10 seconds before stirring.
Sprinkle in the goji berries and let it sit for 1 minute. Turn off the heat and season with salt and sesame oil.
Why does loofah and egg soup increase lactation?
Luffa promotes lactation: Luffa contains saponins that promote ductal patency (Traditional Chinese Medicine calls luffa a key lactation-promoting herb).
High-quality protein: Eggs provide whey protein, a building block for breast milk synthesis.
Hydration: Soups increase fluid volume and boost milk production.
⚠️ Notes
Best time to consume: One hour after breastfeeding (when the mammary glands are active).
Combination recommendations: Combine with massage (gently press from the armpits toward the nipples).
Contraindications: Luffa has a cooling nature; those with spleen and stomach deficiency may want to add more ginger slices.
Okay, that concludes our first soup.
The second recipe is Crucian Carp and Tofu Soup.

Ingredients (serves 2-3):
1 crucian carp (approximately 400g, fresh and preferably with bright red gills);
1 block of soft tofu (300g, rich in calcium);
5 slices of ginger (to remove fishy smell and dispel cold);
2 sections of scallion (to promote lactation);
3g of Tongcao (optional, available at Chinese medicine pharmacies to enhance lactation);
A pinch of salt or white pepper.

Instructions:
1. Prepare the crucian carp
Remove the scales and internal organs of the crucian carp, and clean the black membrane in the abdominal cavity (which is the source of the fishy smell);
Dry the fish with paper towels to prevent the skin from breaking.
2.Keys to Frying Fish
Heat the pan with cold oil (add 1 tablespoon of lard for a more fragrant flavor), sprinkle with a little salt to prevent sticking, and cook over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, add the crucian carp to the pan. Do not stir until both sides are golden brown before removing (about 3 minutes per side).
3.Simmering a Milky White Soup
Pour 1 liter of boiling water directly into the pan (‼️cold water will make the soup fishy and less white).
Add ginger slices, scallion whites, and tongcao (if using), and simmer over high heat for 10 minutes.
Reducing the heat to medium-low, add the tofu cubes and simmer for another 15 minutes.
Finally, season with salt and white pepper, and sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
Similarly, why can crucian carp and tofu promote lactation?
High-quality protein: Crucian carp is rich in easily digestible animal protein, which promotes milk production.
Fat emulsification: After frying the fish, the fat droplets disperse, creating a milky white soup that is easier to absorb. Tongcao Supplement (optional): Contains ingredients such as inositol, which gently stimulates mammary duct dilation.
Water + Calcium: Tofu provides calcium, preventing calcium loss in mothers.
⚠️ Notes
Best Practice: Drink 200ml one hour before breastfeeding (with the soup and fish).
Removing Fishy Odor: Rub the pan with ginger slices before frying fish, or add a little cooking wine.
Contraindications: Avoid this during mastitis (high protein may worsen blockages). Avoid if you're allergic to fish.
